Leader Development in Higher Education

Sorry that it has been a while since I posted a note. I ran across the following article in The Chronicle for Higher Education--here is the url: The author looks at presidential searches and the difficulties that a new president encounters when they assume office. He also lists eight lessons he has learned during his work and research. Please take a few minutes to review these lessons. They include many of the outcomes we are working to achieve in the program. The bad news is that he predicts that a lack of leadership

preparation is going to stifle innovation and put at risk the future of many higher education institutions. The good news is that you are part of the Thrivent Fellows Program.
